Pricing and ordering info

Each Saddle Rider is manufactured and assembled in the United States from components that include hand-tooled parts and 3D printed parts which employ a patented process specially suited to the strength and resonance requirements of acoustical stringed instruments. We make Saddle Riders in small batches, and are currently accepting waitlist entries with the following introductory pricing:

The one-size-fits-all Violin and Viola Saddle Rider kit, which includes the Saddle Rider components, kevlar tailgut, allen adjusting key, jeweler’s screwdriver, and silicone lubricant, is priced at an introductory price of $95 (U.S.)

The Cello Saddle Rider kit includes a customized New Harmony-style endpin mount (25.75 mm diameter plug at the larger end of the taper), all necessary Saddle Rider components, kevlar tailgut, and silicone lubricant. It is designed to accommodate all standard 10 mm endpins, and if desired, can be used like a traditional endpin mount without the Saddle Rider components. The introductory price for the cello kit is $145 (U.S.) Please note that the adjustable steel tailgut pictured on the front page photo is an add-on option available from New Harmony Music. The kit ships with a kevlar tailgut included.

The Double Bass Saddle Rider kit includes a customized New Harmony-style endpin mount (32 mm plug at the larger end of the taper designed to accommodate all standard 10 mm endpins), all necessary Saddle Rider components, and silicone lubricant. A New Harmony brand flexible steel adjustable tailgut or another similar flexible tailgut is recommended. Like the cello Saddle Rider assembly, if desired, the bass mount can be used like a traditional endpin mount without the Saddle Rider components. The introductory price for the bass kit is $195 (U.S.)

New Harmony endpins of the above sizes offer interchangeable parts with the Saddle Rider assembly, and we encourage you to check out New Harmony’s excellent line of bass and cello endpins to use in your Saddle Rider endpin mount by clicking here. Please note that the cello and bass Saddle Rider kits do not include an endpin.

Cello and bass orders should include the measurement from the center of the endpin hole on the lower bout in a straight line to the front edge of the saddle.
