Adjustable through a wide range of weights and settings, this resonator effectively neutralizes even the most severe wolf tones without impeding a cello’s tone or resonance. Best of all, it’s free! We provide all of the open source files and assembly instructions at no cost as a service to the cello community. For details and links, check out our recent blog post!

Introducing the “RobPin” for cello!

This design is rock solid and lightweight. Engineered and manufactured in Germany and the United States, it is a perfect match for Saddle Rider’s “Vector Mount” endpin sockets. It allows innumerable adjustments to height, angle, and playing position using a small Allen key. From the shortest cellist who wants to “bend it like Rostropovich” to the tallest player who needs a very long endpin, all the options are covered! Check out our newer small model that is half the size of the traditional RobPin and offers angles similar to the Stallhammer, the TekPin, and half way in between! The larger model in the lower photo also works for cello or double bass and offers innumerable angle and positioning options.

New Endpin Designs

16 mm double bass Endpin Mount in black anodized aircraft aluminum bundled with a Creative Commons 3D-printed cone that fits all standard bass sizes. No reaming required for installation! Lightweight and VERY strong patent-pending vector clamping mount. 10 mm cello and 16 mm (5/8th inch) double bass models. Alternative bass tip options: Non-slip rubber ball, or threaded surgical steel tip and rubber ball combination. Because 16 mm and 5/8th inch are virtually identical measurements, many commonly available dowels, tubes, and rods can be used by luthiers and players worldwide. Pictured here are carbon steel, carbon fiber, aircraft aluminum, and multiple wood options.

These aircraft aluminum “vector mounts” are available for cello (left) and double bass (right).

Another new design for VSA 2022 (below): Quick Release Double Bass endpin mounts for maple and similar hardwood endpins.

Designed for 16 mm or 5/8th inch wooden endpins, these 3D printed collet mounts are ultralight and are designed for maple rods and other medium hardwoods. They’re an economical way to explore the tone of various 16 mm wooden endpins in your bass! Great for medium hardwoods with tremendous grip and minimal wood compression. No reaming of the endpin hole is required when using the cut-to-size cone shim. We recommend BassTattoo.com for an inexpensive and large selection of 16 mm (5/8th inch) wooden dowels. Our endpins are available in the U.S., Europe, and Australia directly from SaddleRider.com or from Saddle Rider Design Collective partner Rob Anzellotti of BassCapos.com

Saddle Rider Music makes a variety of endpin tips and fittings for 16 mm (5/8th inch) rods and tubes as well as several other sizes for double bass and cello. Fittings are available in a variety of colors.

New Bass Adjusters!

Designed for Los Angeles Bassworks in communication with luthier Zachary Martin in Rhode Island, these aircraft aluminum adjusters incorporate the popular thread and dimensional details of the well-known Rhode Island adjusters that are no longer available. The 1/4 x20 threads are extremely accurate and consistent with Saddle Rider’s trademark attention to detail.
