REVIEWS OF SADDLE RIDER PRODUCTS:

“Your idea is genius and perfect timing … an elegant solution for trying out various relationships of string angle over the bridge (pressure) before going to heroic lengths, and making some fairly permanent and costly alterations.”  Matthew Hunter, violist, Berliner Philharmoniker

“In my opinion, this product is stunningly well thought-out and engineered” David Burgess, master luthier, and first American to win the  “Stradivari” International Instrument Making Competition in Cremona, Italy

“I am pleased to be one of the first Saddle Rider customers for bass. The ability to have an on-the-go, tool-free tone adjustment is invaluable. I would say the tonal variation is on par with that of an adjustable neck, but without any major surgery required. The installation is simple and the Saddle Rider well made. Bravo!” Theodore Chan, Double Bassist, The Toronto Symphony Orchestra

“You have a gift for mechanical design … Clever and novel!”  Joseph Curtin, violinmaker, researcher, and MacArthur Fellow, https://josephcurtinstudios.com/

“I’d been eyeing Saddle Rider’s adjustable saddle endpin design for a long time and approached John Haines-Eitzen to see if he could make a 16 mm version for wooden endpins. To my amazement, within only a few weeks he came up with this brilliant and affordable collet design!  I’m extremely happy with this fantastic endpin and recommend it high and low.  The difference between it and the Ulsa and was immediately noticeable!  Much more fundamental to notes in all registers, and the low end was much more pronounced. I REALLY like that!” Martin Spure, double bassist, Denmark

Our fellow cellist, John Haines-Eitzen of SaddleRider.com, has developed the best endpin housing on the market by a million miles! Having a (… slipping issue like yours) means the design of the housing isn’t what it ought to be. I’d highly recommend getting one of these to solve the slipping problems and most likely improve the sound of your cello. Jake Hanegan, Principal Cellist of the Illinois Philharmonic, serving as Principal Cellist, Chicago Opera Theater (from International Cello Society)

John Haines-Eitzen has devised a system with his Saddle Riders that allows a musician to make immediate and impactful changes to their tone in the moment.  His design is simple, sleek, easy to install and use, and really empowers musicians to finely tweak their instrument to what the playing situation requires!”  Dylan Race, Luthier and founder of RaceOrchestralStrings.com

“For people like me who tend to use a magnet-style wolf eliminator some days and not others, the new Saddle Rider safe installer is a game changer! Taking my old Krentz wolf eliminator out of the cello and putting it back in was always a nightmare, and even if you plan to just leave the magnet resonator in all the time, the safe installer is essential for peace of mind and comfort!” Alan Richardson, cellist of the Aeolus String Quartet, prizewinner in the Coleman and Fischoff International Chamber Music Competitions.

“I recently sold a bass I made to an amazing player in the NY Met Opera. When I delivered the bass to NYC, the Met bassists gathered to put it through its paces (and it held up!). They also swapped the endpin shafts a bunch. Everyone agreed that your carbon steel endpin was superior to the name-brand carbon fiber in terms of warmth and transfer to the room. The bass is now in active use in the Met Orchestra—with the steel endpin in place. Seems like you've got a winner on your hands! Gian Pangaro, Luthier, Sommerville, MA

“ I love this! I have a Krentz wolf eliminator and, while it does tame the wolf to some degree, it also changes the sound way too much.  I always find myself placing it in a compromise area where the wolf isn’t too strong and the sound isn’t too affected. But with your wolf eliminator I was able to place it anywhere without any major sound change.  So much easier to adjust and move around. I’m in love already, just wanted to share!” Francisco Malespin, cellist Civic Orchestra of Chicago

“I have owned my Cello for 20 years and always thought that it sounded great. The moment I installed your resonator I was absolutely floored by first, the elimination of my guttural wolf tone and second, and more importantly the beautiful over tones and colorful openness of the sound! It felt under the ear like I was hearing pieces I’ve played a thousand times for the first time.” John Sellers, cellist and cello teacher, Placerville, CA

“There is an obvious improvement in the mechanical stability of the SaddleRider mount over the New Harmony model. This translates not only to an improved sense of security when playing but I'm quite certain that I hear an improved sonic performance” Jeff Hamacher, cellist Melos Chamber Orchestra, Limestone Trio

“All I have to say is WOW! This has really transformed my cello. There is such a difference in resonance and color and I love the more severe bent endpin options … Thank you for the best endpin I’ve ever had! I used to think my cello was the problem but it’s so clear that there was sound leaking / connection problem with the Stahlhammer. My cello speaks quicker and clearer and I can sit near the bridge with less push back from my cello.” Sam Boundy, award winning cellist and member of “Orchestra Now”
