Clamping Slugs for Vector Mounts
Clamping slugs are machined in Aircraft Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Brass, and Titanium. While changing a thumbscrew is an aesthetic choice that doesn’t impact the tone of an instrument, changing the material of the slug pressing against the endpin does! We find that aluminum and stainless steel slugs sound the best in most instruments while brass and titanium can be beneficial is some cases. All Vector Mounts come with aluminum slugs pre-installed. We recommend that players who rely on bass wheels or RobPin endpins use the “off road” stainless steel slugs for toughness and durability.
